It comes as she recalled privately struggling over criticism of her fluctuating weight.
She might be rigorously fighting against her lupus, but it hasn’t stopped Selena Gomez from flaunting her radiant complexion and overall beauty. The superstar kicked off the week with two Instagram selfies, which saw her lustrous dark hair in casual waves as she appeared to be enjoying some quiet time at home.
You’ll agree that the 30-year-old is fond of keeping it real with her followers, as she posts makeup-free selfies on a regular basis to promote body positivity.
Last month, the Only Murders in the Building star posted a candid photo [pictured below], foregoing filters to proudly display the blemish on her upper lip. The caption read: “Me,” and the post earned praise in her comment, with Nicola Peltz Beckham, 28, writing: “Most beautiful ever”, while White Lotus star Aubry Plaza, 38, left a lovestruck emoji.
For her newest, the superstar rocked this low-cut black tank top, looking relaxed.
Selena then wrote in the caption: “Violet chemistry,” and it has gained rave reviews from her fanbase. Influencer Whitney Simmons gushed: “ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKING GORGEOUS.” While another fan said: “SO PRETTYYYYYYYY.” However, the round of makeup selfies follows her appearance on the Apple TV+ docuseries Dear, where she recalled privately struggling over criticism of her fluctuating weight.
The Same Old Love songstress, in the docuseries, described portraying herself online as someone who didn’t care about the criticism when in reality she was “crying my eyes out.”
She said: “My weight constantly fluctuates because I would be on certain medications. And obviously, people just ran with it. It was like they couldn’t wait to find a thing to bring me down. I was being shamed for gaining weight because of my lupus. I lied. I would go online and I would post a picture of myself and I would say ‘it doesn’t matter. I’m not accepting what you’re saying.”
All the while, Selena alleged she’s been in the room posting and crying her eyes out because nobody deserves to hear those things. She continued: “Though I was posting these things saying it doesn’t bother. Because I didn’t want it to bother other people who are experiencing the same thing, getting shamed for what they look like, who they are, who they love. I just think it’s so unfair. I don’t think that anybody deserves to feel less than.”
